The need for additional Potomac River crossings between Montgomery County and Virginia is apparent to anyone who needs to travel between these two areas.

Contact your Maryland and Montgomery County officials to let them know you support the second crossing studies in progress.  Let them know you disapprove of the misinformation and scare tactics being used on the Montgomery County web site!

Our Mission:
To promote open discussion, study and planning of additional Potomac River crossings between Montgomery County and Virginia.  If current Maryland state and county officials will not support unbiased study of these needed crossings, we will assist in the conduct of these studies.  We will share this information with elected officials and citizens in order to educate them on the benefits that reduce air pollution, vehicle miles traveled, road congestion and safety, and improve the region's quality of life.
Citizens and businesses currently must drive almost three times the distance between Maryland and N. Virginia spending four to five as much time in traffic gridlock on over utilized I-270 and I-495.  This costs the region in terms of additional pollution, wasted time, road safety, and gas and vehicle wear and tear.  It creates problems on local roads. It also costs the region in other ways such as economic health and quality of life.

The combined population of Montgomery and Fairfax counties is close to 2 million people.  Incredibly, all that connects them is the American Legion Bridge!
